How we handle the data you share with us over email, on a call, on this website, or during an engagement. We keep it to a minimum and never sell it.

Who we are.
SingleBit is a product studio operated by Naman Barkiya and Abhiraj Sakargaye, based in India. We are the data controller for personal information collected via singlebit.xyz and in the course of client engagements.

Information we collect.
Directly from you. Name, email, company, project context, phone number, and any other details you choose to share when you email us, book a call, or sign a proposal.
Automatically. Basic server logs from our hosting provider (IP address, browser, device type, timestamps) used for security and error-tracking. If analytics is enabled, aggregated, privacy-respecting usage data.
During an engagement. Any content you upload, paste, or otherwise provide (designs, copy, access credentials) for the purpose of delivering the work. Credentials are scoped to what the engagement requires and rotated or removed on handover.

How we use it.
We use personal data to:
- Reply to inquiries and scope work.
- Deliver services and operate systems for clients.
- Send contract, billing, and project updates.
- Keep the site secure and diagnose issues.
- Improve our work and marketing based on aggregated, non-identifying usage.

Legal basis.
Under the GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023, we process personal data on these bases:
- Contract. When we deliver a service you engaged us for.
- Consent. When you sign up for updates or submit marketing forms. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest. For security, analytics in aggregate, and limited business development follow-ups.
- Legal obligation. When tax, accounting, or law enforcement rules require it.

Sharing and processors.
We do not sell personal data. We share data with trusted processors strictly to operate our business: email hosting, site hosting, error monitoring, payment processors, and accounting. Each has a data processing agreement in place. A current list is available on request.

International transfers.
Some processors operate outside your country. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA, UK, or India, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect it.

Retention.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected:
- Inquiry correspondence: up to 24 months after the last message.
- Engagement records and deliverables: for the life of the contract plus seven years for tax and audit purposes.
- Marketing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Your rights.
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Ask us to delete data where it is no longer needed.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

§09
Security.
We protect personal data with access controls, encryption in transit, short-lived credentials for client systems, and least-privilege processes. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected parties and the relevant authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of a qualifying breach.

Children.
Our services are for businesses and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes.
We will post material changes to this policy here with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after the change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
